The search has begun for children to be recognised as child heroes in the 2021 Indomie Independence Day Awards (IIDA).
The IIDA award, in its 13th year, is a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of Dufil Prima Foods Plc., makers of Indomie Noodles, to honour heroic Nigerian children.
It identifies, celebrates, and rewards the exemplary accomplishments of children who have shown uncommon courage and determination in precarious situations. The award also encourages excellence and diligence in children.

The search will cut across eight states of Lagos, Osun, Kano, Kaduna, Rivers, Enugu, Kwara, and Abuja, and will last for seven weeks.
Head of Marketing Sukhman Kaur said the initiative is significant as it is rooted in the recognition of children whose best efforts are often overlooked in the society.
She said: “This initiative is a reflection of the importance and belief of our company in the extraordinary qualities of the Nigerian child which must never be ignored, but rather celebrated. This is also in consonance with our core values and conviction that in every child lies the seed of greatness…”
Two new categories will be added to the initial three of Physical, Intellectual and Social bravery categories. This, according to the Group Corporate Communications and Events Manager, Tope Ashiwaju, is to allow more heroes to be recognised because certain stories would not fit into the three recognised categories but must be recognised.
